Jon Rahm’s rally on Sunday at the WGC-Mexico Championship may have come up short, but the Spaniard’s tie for third has certainly altered his status as golf inches closer to the Masters.
Rahm, who won the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year, is now 25-to-1 to win the year’s first major, ahead of former Masters champions Bubba Watson and Adam Scott, who are both 30-to-1.
According to his manager Tim Mickelson, Rahm plans to take a scouting trip to Augusta National on Tuesday and Wednesday with his caddie. It will be the first time he’s played the iconic course.
Rahm, who moved to 25th in the World Ranking following his finish in Mexico, is not playing this week’s Valspar Championship.
