By the numbers: Key stats from DJ's win in Mexico

World No. 1 Dustin Johnson won again on Sunday in Mexico. Here are the key stats from his second win of 2017 provided by the Golf Channel editorial research unit.

• Fourth career WGC victory; second player to win four or more WGCs (Tiger Woods, 18)

• Sixth player to win in first career start as world No. 1 player

• First player to win in first career start as No. 1 since Adam Scott (2014)

• Wins in consecutive starts for second time in career (2016)

• 14th career PGA Tour win; second-most on Tour since turning pro (Woods, 18)

• Third player in last 30 seasons to win 14 times before age 33 (Woods, Phil Mickelson)

• 16 missed putts inside 10 feet; most by a PGA Tour winner last 10 seasons

• Third player to win WGC while ranked No. 1 (Woods, Rory McIlroy)

• Five PGA Tour wins since June 2016; two more than anyone else in span

• First in field in strokes gained approach and proximity to the hole

• First in field in strokes gained tee-to-green this week

• Fifth top-12 finish in last seven worldwide starts

Jon Rahm

• 3-under 68 in final round; third top-5 in last four worldwide starts

• Consecutive three-putts on back nine (zero on previous 59 holes)

• Four top-3 finishes in 20 career PGA Tour starts

• WGC debut; only player to win in WGC debut is Russell Knox (2015 HSBC)

• Last to win twice in PGA Tour season before Masters at 22 or younger: Robert Gamez in 1990


Rory McIlroy

• 70-71 (1 under) over last two rounds; 9 under in Rounds 1-2

• T-7; fifth consecutive top-10 worldwide dating to last year

• Second top-10 finish in two worldwide starts in 2017 (S. African Open)


Justin Thomas

• Falls to 3-for-5 converting 54-hole leads/co-leads into wins

• 1-over 72 in final round; played first eight holes in 3 over today

• Five top-10 finishes in nine starts this season on PGA Tour


Phil Mickelson

• 10 under; 79th consecutive worldwide tournament without win

• 71 in final round; played first eight holes of round in 3 over

• Hit only 15/36 GIR over final two rounds
